I called the phone company Thursday last week to transfer my telephone and DSL services from the house I'm moving out of to the house I'm moving into. I asked if it was possible to specify the date of service turn-up, and they said yes, given at least one day's notice.
I gave eight.
I took my phone and modem over to the new house and plugged in: no dialtone and no DSL signal in any of the phone jacks.
All I did was move a few blocks down the street to a house I know had phone service before, and they found a way to screw it up.
I so wish I could use the ISP I work for as my home's ISP.
